The VP of Product Management is responsible for the Cleaners Segment strategy and end-to-end profitability and has P&L ownership of the Cleaners Segment. Position identifies profitable growth opportunities, complexity and cost reduction levers and sets the segment’s long-term strategy and roadmap to create sustainable competitive advantage and profitable growth at 10%+ CAGR or 3X market growth (whichever is greater). In order to accomplish this, this individual will work cross functionally across multiple organizations such as Sales, Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing & Supply Chain in order to gain a deep understanding of user & market insights, STEEP factors, operational capability, innovation & technology pipelines, channel dynamics, and competitive dynamics.

 

VP manages a team focused on the Cleaners business including Product Management, Product Operations and Strategic Project Management and reports into the Executive Vice President of Product Management.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Platform P&L ownership

  • P&L ownership of the segment, balancing cost/growth opportunities to achieve profitability and growth targets

  • Identification of profitable growth opportunities, complexity and cost reduction levers for the segment from an end-to-end perspective involving all relevant leaders across the company to drive impact and success for the segment (incl. Operations, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing)

  • Utilization of a data-driven approach towards decision making, leveraging datasets spanning consumer insights, market data, service levels, sales data, and more

  • Segment strategy, innovation, and new product introductions

  • Develop a competitive segment strategy following strategic frameworks and processes as part of the company’s Strategic Portfolio Review and Planning process

  • Develop deep understanding of target audiences to ensure that new products/services solve real user problems

  • Design/execute/track success of the strategic initiatives of the segment, including go-to-market strategy, brand and value proposition, demand generation strategy, operational and supply chain strategy, and pricing and promotional strategy

  • Innovation pipeline management to meet user needs, optimize portfolio mix, better serve our customers, and grow the segment

  • Responsibility over managing new product launches, including working closely with R&D to ensure end user needs are met, executing a launch marketing/sales strategy, and quantifying success of initiatives

  • Share best practices, identifying opportunities to drive synergy and scale across the business together with the wider Product Management team

  • People Management – Build/manage a high-performing, self-directed Product Development team

  • Coach/mentor staff, ensure employee development and retention, maintain a positive employee relations environment

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree or higher in Business, Marketing, or Engineering, with an MBA being an advantage

  • 10+ years of relevant Product Management or Brand Management experience in the Cleaning category. Deep understanding of industrial/professional/consumer cleaning markets and manufacturing

The VP of Strategic Pricing will drive overall pricing strategy and execution discipline at the company. This individual will lead a team which works closely with Sales and Product Management to ensure price setting is developed in a strategic manner at a product and customer level, analytics-driven pricing and trade promotion opportunities are identified, price plans are executed to the fullest potential, and pricing and trade promotion performance is tracked and diagnosed for action.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop key pricing initiatives aligned with Rust-Oleum’s growth and profitability goals of delivering 10%+ CAGR or 3X market pace (whichever is greater) for each business segment and platform

  • Build/maintain a culture of pricing excellence in the organization by communicating opportunities for improvement with leadership team

  • Develop a high-level understanding of the product markets that Company operates in and work with Product Management to translate this knowledge into how products are priced in the market

  • Act as a custodian of the pricing strategy and refresh as needed based on changing market dynamics and company performance

  • Provide subject matter expertise on pricing strategy and execution, trade promotion and co-op marketing investments.  Work closely with business partners within Finance, Sales, Product Management, and other divisions on pricing decisions, opportunities, and impact of price moves on customer volume

  • Develop price management framework and process to optimize value of each customer relationship

  • Own and drive the end-to-end Pricing process for the organization spanning opportunity identification, planning, execution and price tracking

  • Act as an advisor to Sales/Product Managers on pricing specific customer segments, e.g., pricing the tail-end customers, revisiting pricing for contract customers

  • Drive the team around developing and enhancing data-driven pricing tools. Enforce the use of pricing tools and reports by the business teams

  • Establish business processes to ensure price/margin related business rules are enforced and track compliance on an ongoing basis

  • Enable Sales leaders to effectively execute price changes by supporting deal negotiations with collateral and negotiation expertise

The Director of Product Operations is responsible for working as a liaison with internal functions on the broad set of activities required to get each product in their assigned segment/product line(s) to market at the lowest cost possible, with proper registrations, and to support those products throughout their lifecycle. Position will collaborate on developing product operations strategies and their alignment with growth and manufacturing strategy and is responsible to evaluate strategic sourcing trade-offs. This position will support the growth and profitability of Company with goal to deliver 10%+ CAGR or 3x market pace (whichever is greater) for assigned business segment and platform(s).  This position will serve as the point person to identify and manage key projects for their respective product line(s) including help in creating business cases ranging from new product introductions through to continuous improvement efforts in the end-to-end supply chain. This position will report into the Vice President of Product Management.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supply Chain / Operations Strategy

  • Lead in establishing a forward-looking supply chain / operations strategy and plan to help the product line(s) achieve its customer and financial goals. Do this in collaboration with the business and operations / supply chain teams

  • Serve as the lead liaison to manage and drive the actions and plan established
