SALES EXECUTIVE – SUSTAINABLE THERMOPLASTIC MATERIALS

OVERVIEW

Leading producer of sustainable thermoplastic compounds has this immediate need!

Their DuraPET product is an engineering grade compound with over 90% recycled content.  DuraPET is the most sustainable product on the market suitable for durable goods applications.  DuraPET is positioned with major brands in the consumer electronics, furniture, electronic accessories, and appliance market as a unique solution to the rapidly growing demands of consumers for more sustainable products.  This is a unique opportunity to drive rapid growth in the exploding market of sustainable plastics.

 

Ideal candidate has a basic technical knowledge of plastics and the polymers that are used to make plastic end products and the selling skills to engage with both engineering and business leadership people at major brands. A passion/interest for solving the plastics waste crisis and experience in helping brands adopt sustainable material solutions is ideal for this role. The successful candidate will have the ability to seek out and engage with champions at major brands looking to drive sustainability goals within their companies.  Ability to communicate with technical people as DuraPET is trialed and tested by prospective customers is a must. 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree or higher in Business.  Degree is Plastics would also be of high value

  • Basic technical knowledge of polymers and plastics

  • 5 years of demonstrated Sales skills/success within the plastics industry

  • Ability to understand/learn modification of polymers through thermoplastic compounding

  • Knowledge of the plastics waste crisis and potential solutions including mechanical recycling, bio polymers, and chemical recycling

  • Ability to excite engineers and business leaders to adopt sustainable plastics solutions

  • Ability to understand the DuraPET value proposition and identify, cultivate and close on opportunities with brands driven to produce sustainable plastic end products

  • A passion/interest for providing sustainable solutions to brand owners

  • Understanding of organizing and prioritizing multiple business development opportunities

  • Business development experience in sustainable plastics a valued plus

  • Sales/business development experience working with major brand companies & plastics processors

  • Sales experience of compounded or reactor grade polymers used for injection molded or extruded end products is ideal

  • Experience guiding prospective customers through technical evaluation and approval projects

This individual contributor role is remotely based and requires the skill/experience to sell to major brands and have some passion/interest around the field of sustainable plastics.
