The Coated Products Operations consists of three manufacturing plants, 4 Slitting and Distribution Centers, and a majority interest partnership in Mexico. The CPO manufactures pressure sensitive label stock, utilizing a variety of face stock, adhesive and release liner combinations.  Product capabilities include an expanded film line, as well as traditional paper, foil, and thermal offerings.


The Coated Products facility in Green Bay recently completed a major expansion, making this plant a state- of-the-art facility. The expansion has doubled the size of the plant, and includes a new building, Coater, Slitters and Automated Sequencing System.


The Senior Product Development Engineer - Adhesives will be part of the Technical

 team, which consists of engineers, technicians, and analysts working in Research & Development, Technical Service, Process Improvement, and Quality roles.  This position will report directly to the R&D Technical Director.

  • Partnering with Sales & Marketing to define gaps in GBP’s product portfolio and identify new growth opportunities within the pressure sensitive industry


  • Working directly with customers to understand and define their wants, needs, and associated value of new technologies


  • Developing new products that meet customer CTQs and are robust in design. Defining manufacturing and quality specifications for products


  • Partnering with Manufacturing and Procurement teams on product developments, process developments, and process improvements with the goal of creating growth-enabling new products and optimizing profit margins


  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert in all areas of adhesives and pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA’s), specifically


  • Stay abreast of new adhesive technologies and evolving trends in the PSA industry through engagement with suppliers, customers, and industry conferences


  • Lead new raw material qualifications in a timely fashion


  • Support process optimization, PSA hygiene best practices, and troubleshooting in the manufacturing plant




  • Minimum of 5 years of Technical/Product Development experience in a related industry

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science & Engineering

  • Strong background in adhesives and pressure sensitive products

  • Knowledge of paper, films, release liners and converting processes

  • Background in emulsion polymerization and formulation

  • Hands-on experience with a variety of coating and converting process equipment

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills


R&D Scientist - Household & Industrial Cleaners





Global leading manufacturer of innovative paints/coatings for the Do-It-Yourself & Professional markets with product applications for small project paints, cleaners, primers, automotive, industrial, high- performance coatings and wood care, has this immediate need! Relocation assistance offered.



  • Conducts a significant level of formulation/applications work in the lab per project plan. Asks appropriate questions to clarify requirements/expectations/critical performance parameters

  • Plan/design/perform complex experimental work. Interpret/compile/report experimental results through written lab reports and presentations

  • Documents lab results through appropriate means including laboratory notebooks, interim and full reports, project meeting minutes, and monthly summaries. When visiting customers, writes reports with corresponding action items

  • Handle projects from start to finish with minimal supervision including - formulation, process development, batching, and stability studies

  • Correspond with raw material suppliers for R&D sample, pricing and technical information requests

  • Compile/analyze 3rd party test information as needed to report to Technical Director

  • Maintain R&D tracker for marketing submissions, product formula evaluation, lab batching schedule, stability, safety testing, etc.

  • Prepare technical documents for claim substantiation for managerial review as needed

  • Maintain R&D product stability program with pull dates and submit samples for testing based on stability protocol

  • Work cross-functionally with team in internal and external manufacturing plant and warehouse

  • Maintain adherence to cGMP’s (current Good Manufacturing Procedures), GLP’s (Good Laboratory Procedures), and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)



  • Attention to detail/analytical thinking, ability to apply general concepts to specific problems to produce positive results is a must

  • Basic formulation knowledge in the home care and industrial cleaning segment areas

  • Work experience in the application of surfactants and polymers to specific home care and I&I cleaning segment areas

  • Ability to prepare and give presentations to internal colleagues and external customers

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple complex projects

  • Must be familiar with laboratory equipment used in the process of creating bench batches

  • Has basic working knowledge and understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of personal care products

  • 3+ years of related experience working with cleaning and antimicrobial chemistry, materials used in industrial and institutional cleaning products, or associated technical field

  • Minimum 3-4 years of formulation experience. Must have formulated products from start to finish (cleaner/degreasers, glass cleaners, bathroom cleaners, disinfectants, etc.)

  • Must have a robust knowledge of basic ingredient interaction and should be able to develop lab scale process

  • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials, or other equivalent scientific field required. MS or Ph.D. strongly preferred

Quality Management Systems Specialist-Medical Devices




Leading medical device designer/manufacturer has this immediate need!

Company is seeking an experienced Quality Management Systems Specialist with medical device industry experience. Primarily responsible for leading/supporting efforts to meet the requirements of FDA/QSR systems, along with continued company growth. Ensure that processes are compliant, effective, and efficient. Leads the department when Quality Manager is absent.


  • Own various quality systems, including responsibilities for writing/revising procedures, ensuring compliance, and establishing and monitoring performance metrics

  • Work to ensure processes are compliant with FDA/QSR and ISO requirements

  • Monitor quality system performance to compliance with regulations, standards, and Company quality management system

  • Identify/lead projects to improve process efficiency/effectiveness

  • Perform analysis, trending, and reporting of non-conformance, and complaint data.

  • Lead/assist with efforts to document processes for compliance with FDA/QSR and ISO requirements

  • Manage critical suppliers, develop supplier relationships, conduct supplier audits, and monitor/ report supplier performance to management

  • Report quality management system performance to management review and take action items to improve quality management system performance

  • Monitor/report on training system to ensure training requirements are identified and personnel are trained in a timely manner

  • May require travel up to 25%

  • Lead/participate in cross-departmental meetings

  • Ability to establish strong cross functional relationships

  • Generally responsible for following FDA/QSR guidelines as described in the procedures related to his/her specific job responsibilities.



  • BS required, preferably in a relevant Engineering discipline

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement, Process Control, or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Effective analytical, written/oral communication, PC, and organizational skills

  • Experience in an FDA and/or ISO regulated Environment, Medical Devices environment experience is desirable. Experience with Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S a valued plus

  • Ability to read blueprints/schematics required. Ability to write specifications a plus

  • Experience with supplier evaluation and auditing

  • This role is based on-site 5 days per week





This Project Manager is responsible for leading the Innovation Process at the Company:  design, implement, monitor, enforce and ingrain global R&D New Product Development (NPD)/stage gate process, track and report critical innovation KPI’s.  Ensure effective operation of the NPD process.  Develop, manage, and report on project portfolio to ensure healthy long-term growth.



  • Lead global innovation process, including development/optimization of NPD process, organize Portfolio and Gate reviews, develop tools, systems, training programs, metric development. Report Innovation KPI’s including financial reporting, project health and readiness, and pipeline sufficiency to meet business plan objectives across categories

  • Work closely with Senior Management and functional leadership to establish portfolio priorities, support resource allocation and portfolio balancing, and ensure portfolio management excellence to meet agreed upon, timelines, cost, and financial targets

  • Provide program management support for global innovation projects, including project planning, risk management, status reporting. Achieve project management excellence across Company

  • Lead/drive disciplined governance and NPD process.  Execute stage gate process across Company. Act objectively across functions supporting gate keepers to make optimized resourcing decisions

    • Ensure alignment/agreement on NPD assumptions and risk management across functions and through NPD governance processes (i.e., Product Review Board)

  • Manage the portfolio of priority projects. Produce accurate/timely reporting of NPD portfolio status throughout the program life cycle

    • Monitor progress against key milestones and decision dates

    • Highlight risks, bottlenecks, and barriers and provide solutions to address

    • Collaborate with project teams to identify gaps, recommend resource allocation, and drive decision making for category pipelines to meet short/long-term innovation objectives

  • Establish/track innovation KPI’s, including status/health of portfolio, providing visibility and insight to stakeholders

  • Drive strong focus on improving business case integrity/priorities.  Identify/implement improvements in the development process and tools based on lessons learned.  Promote continuous improvement of the process

  • Manage/provide escalation between leadership and program teams identifying opportunities for synergy in the portfolio with regarding to project knowledge, resourcing, and tools



  • 5+ years of relevant project/program management experience/success within a relevant industry (i.e., plastics, adhesives, textiles, knits, tapes, non-wovens, fasteners, etc.)

  • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Advanced Degree preferred

  • PMP, PGMP, or CAPM certification strongly preferred

  • Proven knowledge of program management standards

  • Experience leading project and/or portfolio management function

  • Proven leader with the ability to think creatively and laterally across functions to drive execution

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and model financial business plans

Project Manager-Innovation Process - Individual Contributor Role
Technical Service Director-Polyurethanes





Leading, 155 year-old innovative designer/manufacturer of polyurethane polymers and compounded finishing materials, is seeking a professional and energetic Technical Service Director for its Lynn, MA, ISO Certified manufacturing facility.


Applications include:  Architectural Coatings, Graphic Arts, Industrial Coatings, Laminating Adhesives, Polymers for Leather/Textiles.




Reporting directly to the CEO, the major responsibility for this role is to increase current technical capabilities/techniques in an effort to increase technical success of select opportunities.  This will eventually increase overall commercial success.  This may include designing experiments, developing new application techniques, testing capabilities, chemistries etc.


The Director will develop presentations communicating all the resources used, and results obtained, to meet the challenges of each opportunity.  Whether successful or not, the communication should create buy in into the “Company Process”


Will interface with synthesis lab, applications lab, distribution channels, V.P. of Sales & Marketing, and directly with new and existing customers.  Likely will have the responsibility of managing one or more distribution territories.


Will manage applications lab currently consisting of one senior applications chemist and one lab tech.


Will have influence in designing the build out of a new applications lab within 3-5 years.


Currently will be Office/Lab work environment but will likely require some travel as necessary to support needing opportunities.


Requires a BS/MS in Chemistry along with 5-10 years’ demonstrated success in a Technical Service/Applications leadership role within a polyurethane environment.  Must have a strong business acumen with ability to identify new applications/markets and assist in securing new business.
