QUALITY SYSTEMS MANAGER
(LYNN, MA)
Company is an innovative designer of polyurethane polymers and compounded finishing materials for applications that require the very best. With their strong research capability and experienced applications support, they continually endeavor to meet the challenges faced by formulators and end-users in a variety of industries, including automotive, biomedical, leather, construction, maintenance, and textile. They have in immediate need for an experienced Quality Systems Manager.
OVERVIEW
The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for developing/implementing/maintaining quality management systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and company policies. Role involves managing audits, process improvements, and corrective actions to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. Will work closely with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and Maintain Quality Systems:

Establish, document, and continuously improve quality management systems in accordance with ISO, GMP, or other relevant standards

Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer-specific requirements

Lead the implementation and certification of QMS standards
Audit Management:
-
Plan and conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the quality systems and identify areas for improvement
-
Facilitate external audits by regulatory bodies, customers, or third-party auditors
-
Manage audit findings, ensuring timely resolution/implementation of corrective actions
Compliance and Documentation:
-
Ensure all quality system documentation is up-to-date, properly maintained, and accessible

Oversee change control processes and maintain records of product/process changes
-
Coordinate the management of non-conformances, deviations, and CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions)
Process Improvement:
-
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and quality standards
-
Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve quality performance
-
Monitor and analyze key quality metrics, driving data-driven decision-making
Training and Development:
-
Train employees on quality management systems, compliance requirements, and best practices
-
Foster a culture of quality awareness and accountability across the organization
Supplier Quality Management:
-
Oversee the qualification and monitoring of suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards

Conduct supplier audits and evaluations as required
Risk Management:
-
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to product quality, compliance, and operational processes

REQUIREMENTS
-
Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus
-
5+ years of experience in quality management, preferably in a manufacturing or regulated industry

Experience with ISO standards
-
Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) a valued plus
-
Strong understanding of quality management systems and regulatory requirements
-
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
-
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments

Primarily office-based with occasional visits to production areas or supplier locations for audits or supplier qualification
SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER – CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING
(WOODSTOCK, CT)
OVERVIEW
This role is responsible for providing day-to-day engineering support for manufacturing operations, as well as implementing yield, process, and product improvements.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain safety, product quality/yield and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties

Optimizes manufacturing processes to provide sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and product performance through capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments and procedural changes

Works with customers on technical/quality issues and provide special products
-
Works to resolve problems, develop, and start up new products
REQUIREMENTS
-
BS in Chemical Engineering or related field. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
-
5+ years of hands-on process engineering experience from within a relevant chemical manufacturing environment
-
Must haves the ability to work professionally with various levels of the organization, including production staff

Familiarity with engineering software

QUALITY LAB SUPERVISOR/MANAGER
(BOSTON METROWEST)
OVERVIEW
Manage all aspects of quality on the production floor, at all steps of the process driving improvements. Lead initiatives supporting the compliance of customer requirements and the quality system in an ISO9001, AS9100 and IATF16949 environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain a safe/clean work environment for all employees by following company safety rules/regulations/procedures. Enforce/adhere to all PPE requirements. Contribute to a Safety-First Culture by identifying Risky Situations. Work in a safe manner and supervise others with safety culture in mind
• Perform as technical liaison with Production Planning, Operations and Engineering personnel on all quality related topics (inspection, testing, non-conformities management, problem solving, CARs, short loops etc.)
• Enroll in customer websites for all communications regarding Quality issues and to support shipments
• Support the planning and the design of quality control inside manufacturing processes, as part of the project team, and following APQP principles, support ECOs, RCRs, SCRs, etc. from a quality viewpoint
• Maximize efficiency by analyzing quality issues/data /results, propose improvements
• Review/evaluate proposed and processed engineering changes and/or other specification requirements from a quality point of view
• Assist in the management of MRB process with Engineering and Production, ensure a quick and controlled disposition of all non-conforming materials
• Initiate all customers CARs, publish/manage quality alerts and containment actions on the floor in coordination with the production management
• Implement quality improvements to drive lower non conformities level of our manufacturing processes (application of SPC principles, mistake proofing, quality training, self-inspection)
• Support training of floor operators to self-inspection, quality principles, quality control, validate all quality related floor instructions (as visual criteria, boundary samples)
• Coordinate source inspection schedule and prepare all documentation for source inspection. Supervise all source inspections activities, and ensure appropriate scheduling with Customer Service
• Supervise the inspection team and manage inspection resources to meet the manufacturing needs in term of scheduling / lead-time
• Manage the calibration system
• Manage/complete FAIs, First Article schedule, PPAPs, APQPs etc. in a timely manner and implement managing mechanisms to track status
• Work with Purchasing/Supplier Quality Manager to provide feedback on supplier issues
• Responsible to ensure lab equipment is adequate for Inspection needs and Inspectors are trained/have the equipment and tools they need to perform their jobs correctly. Responsible for the purchase of new equipment as needed to support business needs
• Oversee the Process Control Auditing process. Report findings to drive improvements
• Drive reduction in Inspection where warranted. Keep Inspection throughput flowing to never be a bottleneck
• Systems thinker and process practitioner supporting process mapping, theory of constraints, reduction of “muda” to achieve efficiencies and flow without obstruction
• Strong people manager with interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and engage
REQUIREMENTS
• BS degree in engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Quality certification a valued plus
• Five+ years’ experience in a quality related technical role in a component manufacturing environment
• Proven track record in manufacturing quality inspection leadership, with the ability to communicate at all levels
• Prior experience supervising Mechanical Inspectors
• Knowledge of quality tools, problem solving tools, group animation, brainstorming
• Experience working in an ISO 9000 / AS 9100 environment
• SPC expertise
• Knowledge of GDT and quality system standards (ISO / AS 9100 /TS 16949) and FAI, PPAP, CAR/SCAR, source inspection, etc. preferably with experience working in an AS 9100 environment
• Must be US citizen or hold permanent residency status.
