RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ph.D. in Polymer Science/Chemistry, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering, with 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong knowledge of polymer fundamentals, polymer processing (extrusion), and materials characterization.  Experience with polymer fiber or textile applications (knit, woven, and non-woven textiles) is a valued plus

  • Demonstrated technology excellence in developing and commercializing innovative products across a range of different polymer systems using a Stage Gate Process model

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to quickly assess nature, scope, and strategies for developing new programs or troubleshooting

Unique and exciting opportunity for an R&D Manager to join the fast moving and growing Inkjet team as leader of the Applications Development team. Will manage a small-to-medium team of researchers, while balancing project responsibilities that define the value that state-of-art products provide to Customers.


The Manager will also be a part of the Inkjet Senior Management Team in the R&D organization, providing input on the direction of future development opportunities both in products and markets. The R&D Manager is a key role which helps sit at the bridge between the Customer experience and internal development, working intimately with Managers in our Product and Process Development Teams. RESPONSIBILITIES

Exciting opportunity for a Scientist to join the Inkjet Process Development team and help grow inkjet business in the fast-growing, emerging industrial inkjet printer market.


Will lead planning and projects through Company’s Stage Gate process and work closely with the supply chain, product development, and product line teams on raw material sourcing, new vendor qualification, and continuous efficiency improvement for both existing and new products.


Scientist will have a unique opportunity to work on both product and process development and execute lab- and pilot-scale experiments in support of scaleup and commercialization of aqueous pigment dispersions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independent researcher contributes to areas of product and process development to develop innovations, new designs, or new techniques to advance the field. Group focuses on the fundamental understanding of electrochromic devices, next generation process/product and process improvement. 

 

Responsible for leading/supporting research on next generation processes and products with a fundamental understanding of electrochromic devices. Electrochromic devices are complex, and understanding the relationship between materials, sputtering process and the properties of thin films and the final product performance to guide next generation process or product design will be your key focus.

 

The ideal person will have:

  • A research focus, someone who likes discussing/formulating new hypotheses and ideas

  • Ability to collaborate closely in a transversal team of people from very different backgrounds, i.e. research, production, marketing, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage projects, design/execute experiments on pilot and industrialized coaters, coordinate with manufacturing team, and analyze samples and results

  • Plan, define, and execute a research program on advanced electrochromic materials

  • Coordinate with pilot coater team on experimental thin film sample preparation on new materials, process studies etc.

  • Coordinate with production any experiments on industrial line to assure transferability of any new solution

  • Setup experimental in-house characterization as well as external analysis

  • Establish adequate reporting of project advances and documentation of results

  • Own process improvement/new process development projects and lead project team to meet goal

  • Follow relevant scientific work to field of electrochromic materials, propose and setup required external collaboration

  • Follow up any potential solutions in respect of freedom to use as well as assuring that relevant IP protection is obtained by Company for newly identified solutions

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or related field is required

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or related field preferred

  • 3+ years’ experience with thin film process development, especially magnetron sputtering and characterization is preferred

  • Knowledge of materials science and device physics, preferably in the semiconductor field, is desired

  • Conducts a significant level of formulation/applications work in the lab per project plan. Asks appropriate questions to clarify requirements/expectations/critical performance parameters

  • Plan/design/perform complex experimental work. Interpret/compile/report experimental results through written lab reports and presentations

  • Documents lab results through appropriate means including laboratory notebooks, interim and full reports, project meeting minutes, and monthly summaries. When visiting customers, writes reports with corresponding action items

  • Handle projects from start to finish with minimal supervision including - formulation, process development, batching, and stability studies

REQUIREMENTS
