The Coated Products Operations consists of three manufacturing plants, 4 Slitting and Distribution Centers, and a majority interest partnership in Mexico. The CPO manufactures pressure sensitive label stock, utilizing a variety of face stock, adhesive and release liner combinations. Product capabilities include an expanded film line, as well as traditional paper, foil, and thermal offerings.
The Coated Products facility in Green Bay recently completed a major expansion, making this plant a state- of-the-art facility. The expansion has doubled the size of the plant, and includes a new building, Coater, Slitters and Automated Sequencing System.
The Senior Product Development Engineer - Adhesives will be part of the Technical
team, which consists of engineers, technicians, and analysts working in Research & Development, Technical Service, Process Improvement, and Quality roles. This position will report directly to the R&D Technical Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Partnering with Sales & Marketing to define gaps in GBP’s product portfolio and identify new growth opportunities within the pressure sensitive industry

Working directly with customers to understand and define their wants, needs, and associated value of new technologies

Developing new products that meet customer CTQs and are robust in design. Defining manufacturing and quality specifications for products

Partnering with Manufacturing and Procurement teams on product developments, process developments, and process improvements with the goal of creating growth-enabling new products and optimizing profit margins

Serve as an internal subject matter expert in all areas of adhesives and pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA’s), specifically
-
Stay abreast of new adhesive technologies and evolving trends in the PSA industry through engagement with suppliers, customers, and industry conferences

Lead new raw material qualifications in a timely fashion

Support process optimization, PSA hygiene best practices, and troubleshooting in the manufacturing plant
REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 5 years of Technical/Product Development experience in a related industry

BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science & Engineering

Strong background in adhesives and pressure sensitive products

Knowledge of paper, films, release liners and converting processes

Background in emulsion polymerization and formulation

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts a significant level of formulation/applications work in the lab per project plan. Asks appropriate questions to clarify requirements/expectations/critical performance parameters

Plan/design/perform complex experimental work. Interpret/compile/report experimental results through written lab reports and presentations

Documents lab results through appropriate means including laboratory notebooks, interim and full reports, project meeting minutes, and monthly summaries. When visiting customers, writes reports with corresponding action items

Handle projects from start to finish with minimal supervision including - formulation, process development, batching, and stability studies

Correspond with raw material suppliers for R&D sample, pricing and technical information requests

Compile/analyze 3rd party test information as needed to report to Technical Director

Maintain R&D tracker for marketing submissions, product formula evaluation, lab batching schedule, stability, safety testing, etc.

Prepare technical documents for claim substantiation for managerial review as needed

Maintain R&D product stability program with pull dates and submit samples for testing based on stability protocol

REQUIREMENTS

Basic formulation knowledge in the home care and industrial cleaning segment areas

Work experience in the application of surfactants and polymers to specific home care and I&I cleaning segment areas

Company is seeking an experienced Quality Management Systems Specialist with medical device industry experience. Primarily responsible for leading/supporting efforts to meet the requirements of FDA/QSR systems, along with continued company growth. Ensure that processes are compliant, effective, and efficient. Leads the department when Quality Manager is absent.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Own various quality systems, including responsibilities for writing/revising procedures, ensuring compliance, and establishing and monitoring performance metrics

Work to ensure processes are compliant with FDA/QSR and ISO requirements

Monitor quality system performance to compliance with regulations, standards, and Company quality management system

OVERVIEW
This Project Manager is responsible for leading the Innovation Process at the Company: design, implement, monitor, enforce and ingrain global R&D New Product Development (NPD)/stage gate process, track and report critical innovation KPI’s. Ensure effective operation of the NPD process. Develop, manage, and report on project portfolio to ensure healthy long-term growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead global innovation process, including development/optimization of NPD process, organize Portfolio and Gate reviews, develop tools, systems, training programs, metric development. Report Innovation KPI’s including financial reporting, project health and readiness, and pipeline sufficiency to meet business plan objectives across categories

(LYNN, MA)
OVERVIEW
Leading, 155 year-old innovative designer/manufacturer of polyurethane polymers and compounded finishing materials, is seeking a professional and energetic Technical Service Director for its Lynn, MA, ISO Certified manufacturing facility.
Applications include: Architectural Coatings, Graphic Arts, Industrial Coatings, Laminating Adhesives, Polymers for Leather/Textiles.
RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
Reporting directly to the CEO, the major responsibility for this role is to increase current technical capabilities/techniques in an effort to increase technical success of select opportunities. This will eventually increase overall commercial success. This may include designing experiments, developing new application techniques, testing capabilities, chemistries etc.
The Director will develop presentations communicating all the resources used, and results obtained, to meet the challenges of each opportunity. Whether successful or not, the communication should create buy in into the “Company Process”
Will interface with synthesis lab, applications lab, distribution channels, V.P. of Sales & Marketing, and directly with new and existing customers. Likely will have the responsibility of managing one or more distribution territories.
Will manage applications lab currently consisting of one senior applications chemist and one lab tech.
Will have influence in designing the build out of a new applications lab within 3-5 years.
Currently will be Office/Lab work environment but will likely require some travel as necessary to support needing opportunities.
Requires a BS/MS in Chemistry along with 5-10 years’ demonstrated success in a Technical Service/Applications leadership role within a polyurethane environment. Must have a strong business acumen with ability to identify new applications/markets and assist in securing new business.
